The Democrats Do It Again

November 20, 2014

Roughly 64 years ago, congress that was controlled by the democrats had control of all three branches, and passed legislation that encourarged employers to provide benefits over higher pay, to prevent inflation.

in the 1943 congress passed a bill and it was signed into law making employer proved benefits tax free, this was done to allegedly prevent inflation because employers were starting to pay higher wages.  The democrats in control of congress saw that with higher wages people would become more mobile as a society.  Contrary to popular democrat belief it was not the new deal that spurred the growth of the 1950’s but the pent up demand for new things that needed to be replaced.  The new deal extended the depression by taking capital out of the private sector, just as obamacare is taking capital out of the private sector today.

For the 60 plus years that congress was controlled by the democrats bills were passed into law to encourage the dependency of people to rely on the federal govt to provide for them.  From the late 1960’s thru to 1993, the democratic party had successfully brought back the plantation from the south.  Without a segment of society relying on the democrats to provide for them there is no reason for them to be around.

The democrats brought back the plantation but now its called the Economic Plantation with low information voters that keep electing them because they do not know better.

Now with the affodable patient care act being passed and signed into law in 2008 illegally based on how it was passed and written.  The democrats are now trying to undo all their work in creating employer provided health care benefits with the unions backing the creation of employer health insurance.

I find it ironic that a democrats are now trying to do away with employer provided health insurance in 2015, since they enforced employer health insurance to begin with as a means to prevent inflation that never would have happened.

Their actions once again prove that socialism fails.

The Long Road To Elysian Fields

November 11, 2014

I am walking along this wide road and I see no one, but in the distance I see something but I am not sure, I hear my wife crying but can not see her. I hear my children but can not see them either, I look around and I hear my wife say it wasn’t my time.  I come upon a small pond along side the road that I am walking on, the road feels as if I belong here.  I look at the pond and I see not my reflection but the all I see are the events that impacted my life the most both happy and sad events.

The first event is at my oldest brothers swearing in ceremony and my telling my mom that is what I will be doing when I am old enough. The next event is at my mothers side in the hospital as she lays dying from breast cancer that was not diagnosed in time.  I received permission from my dad to take the oath of enlistment early at my moms hospital bed side, as I said the final words she gave her last breath.  I left for basic training after my 17th birthday, after my basic training and my m.o.s. training I went back home for a family emergency leave, my father had passed away in his sleep because of a broken heart.

I had served two years when I had met my future wife, we had dated for several years before I had the courage to ask her father for her hand in marriage.  I looked at the pond again and I saw our marriage and then the births of our children all four of them.  I saw her face go pale as she is handing me the phone I was being called to active duty, I left 5 days later not knowing where I would be shipped.

I am closer to the object in the distance what happens to look like a soldier standing guard.  I come upon another pond and I see all four of my children’s last birthday’s that I was not at.  I saw my wife’s brave smile knowing that I was not there, to help celebrate the birthdays.  I walk a bit further on the road and the shape is that of a soldier standing guard, I yell but no response from the guard.

I walk past another pond but I stop, and I see my wife sitting at a table in a restaurant crying, I see the card I had sent her open on the table the card was for our anniversary, that was today.  I am closer to the soldier standing guard he looks to be an old soldier, I call out but still no response. I continue walking along the road and come to another small pond and I again I look and I see a newspaper with the words a hero celebrated, but no picture is in the article, it talks of how the small town came together for the soldier and his family.

I finally am standing in front of the soldier standing guard as I attempt to salute him, he tells me no for he should be saluting me, I am surprised and then listening to his voice I realize that it is my grandfather who was in the military, as he salutes me, I asked him why and he said they all drew straws to see who would welcome me to Elysian Fields, he was the one who won.

My grandfather asked me what was the last thing I remember doing, I told him that my command was in a battle, my grandfather informed me that all were lost in that battle myself included.  My grandfather asked me to step over to this small pond and showed me that my burial was 4 days ago, I saw my wife crying while my children were asking her where daddy was.  I finally realized the sounds that I had been hearing was because I had died, not because I was lost.

I look up from the pond and I see every family member who served in the military standing at attention waiting for me to pass, my grandfather escorts me down the line of family members who died.  I turn to salute the line and I have tears falling down my cheeks as I realize that I will not be there for my wife or to watch my kids grow up.

My grandfather informed me anytime I wish to see how my children or my wife is doing all I have to do is look into a small pond and I can see them, they can not see me but will sense my presence.  They will feel as if I am their guardian angel, watching over them.

My grandfather informs me that I fought till reinforcements had arrived, my last words were we were safe now,  The newspaper rallied the town to be there for me wife and kids, they buried me with honor.  My name was inscribed on the wall for those who made the greatest sacrifice.

I have been in Elysian Fields now for several years, I still look into ponds hoping to catch a glance of my children and my wife, I hear my wife cry when she is asked by our oldest when she is old enough to enlist, will mom be okay with it.  I look down at the pond with pride knowing my oldest wants to enlist, my wife agrees but only after she graduates from high school.

I see my wife still crying herself to sleep, I whisper its okay to move on……………….

Veterans Day

November 9, 2014

On June 14th 1775, The same Act that created the Continental Army so was the first Military Oath of Service

I _____ have, this day, voluntarily enlisted myself, as a soldier, in the American continental army, for one year, unless sooner discharged: And I do bind myself to conform, in all instances, to such rules and regulations, as are, or shall be, established for the government of the said Army.

The original wording was effectively replaced by Section 3, Article 1, of the Articles of War approved by Congress on 20 September 1776, which specified that the oath of enlistment read:

I _____ swear (or affirm as the case may be) to be trued to the United States of America, and to serve them honestly and faithfully against all their enemies opposers whatsoever; and to observe and obey the orders of the Continental Congress, and the orders of the Generals and officers set over me by them.

The first oath under the Constitution was approved by Act of Congress 29 September 1789 (Sec. 3, Ch. 25, 1st Congress). It applied to all commissioned officers, noncommissioned officers and privates in the service of the United States. It came in two parts, the first of which read: “I, A.B., do solemnly swear or affirm (as the case may be) that I will support the constitution of the United States.” The second part read: “I, A.B., do solemnly swear or affirm (as the case may be) to bear true allegiance to the United States of America, and to serve them honestly and faithfully, against all their enemies or opposers whatsoever, and to observe and obey the orders of the President of the United States of America, and the orders of the officers appointed over me.” The next section of that chapter specified that “the said troops shall be governed by the rules and articles of war, which have been established by the United States in Congress assembled, or by such rules and articles of war as may hereafter by law be established.”

The 1789 enlistment oath was changed in 1960 by amendment to Title 10, with the amendment (and current wording) becoming effective in 1962.

the current Oath has been in use since 1962 (except the National Guard Army or Air):

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

For the National Guard Army or Air:

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of (STATE NAME) against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of (STATE NAME) and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to law and regulations. So help me God.

September 18th 2014, the Air Force dropped “so help me God” from the oath

This is for the Men and women who have taken the oath to serve the country, putting their private life on hold to serve the country in the military.

June 14th 1775, The Army was created by the Continental Congress.

October 13th 1775, The Continental Navy was created by the Continental Congress.

November 10th 1775, The Continental Marines were created by the Continental Congress.

September 18th 1947, The Air Force was created by President Truman when he signed into law the National Security Act of 1947.

To those who have served and are serving currently, the Oath is simply words unless you have a love for your country and are willing to put your private life on hold while you serve.

To those who willingly say the oath to enlist the words mean just more than being words, its a desire to serve in the military to protect your family and friends and your way of life.  Our leaders realized that moving from a draft based military to an all volunteer based army would bring the best and be willing to stay in instead of feeling forced to stay because of the draft.

I had written a story titled the long road, when I find the story I will publish it…..

Thank you to all Veterans and all retired and currently active military personnel, Men and Women….

2015

November 7, 2014

For the first time since 2009, a federal budget will be voted on and passed in the House and and then accepted in the Senate.  They were blocked at the door by soon to be former senate majority leader harry reid, instead of continuing spending resolutions by being sent out of the Senate by the democrats which is unconstitutional to begin with.

The gimme budget of 2013 was not a budget but a compromise on behalf of the GOP, hopefully this coming year the establishment GOP will regrow the balls that the democrats had taken from them.  The House and Senate can pass budgets that the american people need not what the democratic party wants.

This election was the continuing expanding influence of the Tea Party, they made compromises to ensure a GOP victory so that the current path the democratic party was sending the country down can be stopped or detoured.  Its sad that the GOP has sellouts who are in leadership positions rather than have a spine and stand up for their true values.

If the media screams the govt is being shut down they can respond that the federal govt shuts down for every Federal Holiday, why do they not cover those shut downs as well….

The American People need a federal govt that lives within its means and not a straight across the board built in budget increase.  Right now the Federal govt can pass the 2006 Federal Budget for the next 10 years with minor tweaks overall and still have plenty to cut from that budget as well.

Congress needs to move away from baseline budgeting which builds into the Federal budget anywhere from a 5% to 10% budget increase for each federal agency, and when they claim that they cut the budget all they did was cut the budget increase.

Its time to pass a Energy Bill that focuses on the needs of the american people that put people back to work and not the lies of enviromentalists that continue to use data that was created back in the 1960’s and the 1970’s.  Pass administrative bills that force the EPA and the EEOC to do impact studies on the negative costs before passing any administrative rules.

Pass Admininstrative rules that require the EEOC to 100% impartial to business and unions, Pass Administrative rules that really are color blind and gender blind.  Get rid of gender, age, race on all applications make is so that its the best qualified person is hired.  Pass Adminstrative Rule that only allows an applicant to use their last name on an application and resume.
